Ia terletak di dalam kawasan
Pejabat Perhutanan Daerah Kota Marudu.
This geologically diverse area in south-eastern Sabah is home to one of the most important archaeological sites on the Island of Borneo, if not in South East Asia. Ancient remains indicate humanoid settlement and stone tool anufacturing in the area dating as far back as 31,000 years ago.
A spectacular waterfall (about 40 m high) is testimony to the rugged geology of the area. It is located close to the main Lahad Datu-Tawau road and is accessible through the Madai Information Centre. This centre was built for the purpose of disseminating information about rainforest biodiversity and the importance of forest conservation.
The site is also designed for outdoor recreation and is a popular swimming and picnic site for residents from nearby Lahad Datu and Kunak.
